How to unfollow WhatsApp channels on a phone
Let’s first learn how you can unfollow WhatsApp channels on a mobile phone and then we will learn how to do that on a computer. The below screenshots were taken on an Android device, but the steps should be similar for iPhones too.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your phone and click the ‘Updates’ tab at the top.
This ‘Updates’ tab sits between the ‘Chats’ tab and the ‘Calls’ tab.
On this tab, you will see the ‘Channels’ heading followed by the channels you are following:
Step 2: Tap on the channel you want to unfollow
This will open the channel page on your screen.

Step 3: Click on the three dots button at the top. Here, you will find the unfollow button:
Step 4: Tap unfollow and press unfollow to confirm.
Congratulations, you have unfollowed a WhatsApp channel.
How to Unfollow or Unsubscribe from WhatsApp channels on a computer
Step 1: Visit https://web.whatsapp.com in your favorite browser and Log in with your WhatsApp account.
Step 2: Click the third icon on the top menu bar just beside your profile picture –
You will be greeted with the list of channels you follow on WhatsApp. In this list, tap on the channel you want to unfollow.
The entire channel window will open to the right side.

Step 3: On this panel, click the three dots button on the right side at the top.
This will open a sub-menu, where you will find the ‘unfollow’ button.
Step 4: Click unfollow and again click ‘unfollow’ to confirm.
You will no longer receive notifications from the unfollowed channel.
